MARTIN THOMAS: LIGHTING DESIGN

MARTIN THOMAS: LIGHTING DESIGN

MARTIN THOMAS, Lighting Director for the Alan Parsons Live Project since 2004, has been lighting performances since 1979 for theatre, music and corporate events. Originally from New York City and the Principal Designer for Relentless Entertainment Design (R.E.D, LLC), he has spent many of the past three decades touring with acts such as Robert Plant, Sarah Brightman, Tina Turner and Erykah Badu, in positions ranging from Electrician to Lighting Designer.

“I strive to bring a visual continuity to the whole performance with the use of lighting- and when possible, video imagery- and choreographing the visuals to the music is imperative- and appreciated- by audience and band alike.”

Martin continuously stays abreast of the newest technology offered in the world of entertainment production, and strives to bring the newest industry advances to the Alan Parsons production.

“I’m extremely proud of the work I do with the artists in APLP; they are attentive to the hard work the crew puts in, and reward us with an excellent performance night after night.”

In addition to his lighting and set design business, Martin has also written multiple articles for several of the production entertainment industry’s magazines, including Live Design Magazine and PLSN.
