Dan Tracey began his musical journey in Hartford, CT.

The youngest of six kids, Dan coaxed his older, more experienced, brother Dave into giving him drum lessons at an early age. Before long, Dan was wowing judges at school jazz competitions with not only his drum skills, but his work on guitar and piano. While still in high school, he won the prestigious Berklee College of Music “Outstanding Musicianship” award.

After a long stint on the East coast doing session work and singing/performing with popular bands, Dan moved to Nashville in 1993 to focus more on his passion for writing and producing. Since the move, Dan has continued to perform live and do session work throughout Nashville including sessions on the famed “Music Row”. Once a student of vocal coach Don Lawrence (Mick Jagger, Billy Joel, Jon Bon Jovi, Bono, Christina Aguilera), Dan is best known in musician’s circles for his wide vocal range, production skills and melody driven pop songs.

A gifted writer, Dan has written songs with Paul Taylor (Winger, Steve Perry, etc) and Trick Pony’s Keith Burns. In 2010, his song “Everything I Am” was featured on an episode of ABC’s “All My Children” and “Bold & The Beautiful”. He’s also had songs appear in the smash Hillary Duff movie “Material Girls” and reality show “Plain Jane,’ while his song “Kia at its Best” appeared in Kia’s 2012 Super Bowl halftime commercial. Currently he is working on a multitude of projects including a “Parsons-esque” EP titled “Princes & Thieves,” due for release in fall 2014. Also noteworthy, Dan teamed with original Staind drummer Jon Wysocki and award-winning producer Robert Wright to create new (alternative rock) band “Save the World.” The band’s first EP, “Volume One,” is in the recording phase.

Dan has performed/recorded with: Brian Howe and Bad Company, Skunk Baxter, Phil Keaggy, Bob Welch, Mark Slaughter, Paul Taylor (Winger, Steve Perry, Aldo Nova, John Waite), Eric Brittingham (Cinderella), Rocco & The Devils (U2 Opening Band.Vertigo Tour Hawaii 07), Ricky Dee, Savage Bros. Band, Keith Burns (Trick Pony), Jamie LaRitz (Bret Michaels) Rich Herring & Mel Watts (Little River Band) and currently, plays guitar and sings in the Alan Parsons Live Project.
